The S 1000 XR is BMW's crossover between superbike performance and adventure tourer comfort, occupying the niche between the GS and the S 1000 RR. The 999 ccm inline four-cylinder produces 170 PS here, offering significantly more dynamics than any boxer adventure bike. At the same time, the upright riding position, the long suspension with 150/140 mm of travel, and the spacious legroom provide genuine touring comfort. With optional panniers, an electrically adjustable windscreen, and heated grips, the XR becomes a long-distance companion, while the 4-cylinder engine delivers unmatched speed reserves on motorway stretches. For those who refuse to compromise on superbike character even during high-speed Alpine cornering workouts, the XR is the most uncompromising choice.
