History.
Founded in 1967 in Schleswig-Holstein — today the market leader for caravans in Germany and Europe, producing around 13,000 caravans and 3,500 motorhomes annually.
Harald Striewski built his first caravan in 1965 for 3,000 DM and founded the Hobby-Wohnwagenwerk in Rendsburg in 1967. In 1968, the young company moved to Fockbek in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district, where its headquarters remain to this day. In 1983, Hobby became the market leader for caravans in Germany and Europe — a position it has maintained to this day.
Starting in 1984, Hobby expanded its lineup to include motorhomes. In 1998, the group acquired Fendt Caravan GmbH in Mertingen, Bavaria. Today, Hobby produces vehicles at its Fockbek plant, which covers approximately 270,000 square meters — with a capacity of up to 13,000 caravans and 3,500 motorhomes per year and an estimated market share of around 25 percent in Germany.
