Carthago

Independent family business from Aulendorf in Upper Swabia. Premium and luxury motorhomes with the characteristic Carthago double floor – from the C-Tourer to the Liner for Two.

History.

Founded in 1979 by Karl-Heinz Schuler in Ravensburg — today one of the most renowned premium addresses for integrated motorhomes in Europe.

Karl-Heinz Schuler founded Carthago in 1979 in Ravensburg. The company started with coachbuilding on VW Transporter platforms and developed into an independent premium manufacturer over the following decades. In 1991, Carthago presented its first motorhomes with its own body construction, followed by the first fully integrated models in 1999.

In 2013, Carthago relocated to Aulendorf in Upper Swabia, where it established one of the most modern motorhome plants in Europe, complete with its own R&D, final assembly, and training academy. In 2014, the company was converted into a foundation, which continues to define its ownership structure to this day. Carthago is complemented by its sister brand Malibu (camper vans and mid-range motorhomes).
