History.
From a Westphalian folding caravan workshop founded in 1950 grew the caravan and motorhome manufacturer that has been part of the Erwin Hymer Group since 1991.
In 1950, Heinz Austermann developed the first folding caravan in Sassenberg, laying the foundation for today's location. In 1966, Wilhelm Saure took over the business, founded Wilhelm Saure KG, and continued caravan production. In 1981, the company was renamed LMC — Lord Münsterland Caravan, a reference to the home region.
In 1991, LMC joined the then Hymer Group and has since been fully integrated into the corporate group — today as part of the Erwin Hymer Group. In 2018, LMC significantly expanded its production capacity in Sassenberg. In 2021, a brand refresh was carried out with a new logo. The company is led by Timo Ecke and Bodo Diller.
