History.

Peter Pössl built the first camper vans of the brand in the late 1980s — today, with around 13,500 vehicles per year, one of the largest camper van manufacturers in Europe.

Peter Pössl developed the first camper vans of the brand in the late 1980s and established Pössl as a distinct identity in the still nascent camper van segment. The company has been based in Ainring, near the Austrian border, from the very beginning.

In 2002, Peter Pössl sold the company to the Glück Group in Gräfelfing. Since then, the Pössl Group has grown significantly: In addition to the main brand Pössl, the portfolio today also includes Globecar, Roadcar, Clever Vans (all panel van-based) as well as Campster, Vanster, Campstar and Vanstar (van-based). In 2014, over 3,600 vehicles were sold; by 2020, production had reached around 13,500 vehicles annually.
