History.
2005 founded as a joint venture between Hymer and Dethleffs — today one of the youngest volume brands of the Erwin Hymer Group.
Carado was founded in 2005 as a joint venture between Hymer AG and Dethleffs GmbH & Co. KG. Behind the brand stands Capron GmbH (from the acronym "CAravan-PROduktion Neustadt") in Neustadt in Sachsen — a former agricultural machinery plant converted for motorhome production, featuring a 450-meter-long assembly line and a capacity of around 5,000 vehicles per year.
Production began in November 2006 with 60 employees. In 2013, the 20,000th Carado rolled off the assembly line, in 2017 the 50,000th vehicle, and in August 2022 the 100,000th motorhome. Carado shares the plant and the pipeline with its sister brand Sunlight.
