Karmann-Mobil

Campervan specialist from Sprendlingen in Rhineland-Palatinate. Part of Eura Mobil GmbH and thus the French Trigano Group since 2000. Five model lines based on Fiat Ducato, Ford Transit and Ford Tourneo Custom.

History.

Karmann-Mobil traces back to Wilhelm Karmann GmbH, founded in 1901 — a brand of Eura Mobil GmbH since 2000 and thus part of the Trigano Group.

Wilhelm Karmann GmbH was founded in 1901 in Osnabrück as a body manufacturer and became well known for body types built for VW (Karmann Ghia, Beetle Cabrio) as well as BMW and Ford. Wilhelm Karmann himself developed the brand's first motorhome in 1976, based on the VW T2 — a wooden frame construction with sheet metal cladding, 4.93 metres long.

The motorhome division grew during the 1980s and 1990s on Mercedes-Benz and VW platforms. In 2000, Eura Mobil GmbH acquired the brand and integrated it into today's Trigano Group. Since 2012, Karmann-Mobil has focused on camper van conversions that preserve the original body — current lines: Davis, Dexter, and Duncan.
