The R 12 is the cruiser in the Heritage portfolio, positioned below the R 12 nineT. The air-cooled 1.170cc boxer delivers 95 PS and offers vibrating authenticity instead of digital performance optimization. The purist design with round headlight, exposed frame, and classic spoke wheels makes it the ideal custom base – BMW deliberately delivers it in a minimalist specification. Nevertheless, the technology is modern: ABS Pro, dynamic traction control, and three riding modes (Rain, Roll, Rock) are standard. With a low seat height of 754 mm and ergonomically forward-positioned footpegs, it offers the classic cruiser look with BMW technology. The Berlin-Spandau plant manufactures all Heritage boxers.
