The R 18 is BMW Motorrad's statement in the cruiser class, embodying German craftsmanship on a grand scale. With 1.802 ccm displacement, the 'Big Boxer' is the largest two-cylinder boxer engine BMW Motorrad has ever built. The unit delivers 91 PS and produces a massive 158 Nm of torque – figures that underline its cruiser character. The design pays homage to the legendary BMW R 5 of 1936: a double-loop frame, open drivetrain with a chrome-plated driveshaft, and classic proportions make the R 18 a rolling tribute to BMW history. Standard equipment includes Keyless Ride, three riding modes (Rain, Roll, Rock), engine drag torque control, and ABS Pro. The R 18 forms the foundation for the R 18 Classic, B, Transcontinental, and Roctane.
