The K 1600 GTL is the touring-oriented variant of the GT and embodies pure long-distance luxury. In addition to the GT's features, it gains a more voluminous top case, a taller windscreen, a more comfortable seat with a larger pillion seating area, and more elegant chrome accents. The six-cylinder engine remains identical, but the GTL is delivered with an even more extensive comfort package: heated grips, heated seat for rider and pillion, cruise control, and an entertainment system are all standard. At 340 kg dry weight, it is on the heavier side, but thanks to Reverse Assist and optional Hill Start Control, maneuvering remains straightforward. For couples on long-distance tours, it is the most comfortable motorcycle choice on the market.
