The T-Roc Cabriolet combines the raised seating position of a crossover with a classic fabric soft top and has been on the market since 2020. It is manufactured at Volkswagen Osnabrück in the former Karmann plant — continuing a tradition of open-top vehicles. Two petrol engines are available: a 1.0 TSI with 115 PS and a 1.5 TSI with 150 PS, each with mild hybrid elements in more recent variants. Production was originally planned until 2025 but has since been extended through the end of 2027. No successor is planned, making the T-Roc Cabriolet likely the last open-top Volkswagen model. Visually, it differs from the regular T-Roc with a two-door body type and a fully electric fabric roof that opens in around nine seconds.
