The VW Tiguan has been one of Europe's best-selling compact SUVs for years and entered its third generation in 2024. For the European market, it is built at VW's main plant in Wolfsburg, where it shares Assembly Line 4 with the Tayron and the outgoing Touran from spring 2026. The new generation is based on the further developed MQB evo platform, offers a longer wheelbase, a completely redesigned interior with new infotainment and a larger 15-inch touchscreen, as well as a particularly efficient engine portfolio. The drivetrain lineup includes 1.5 eTSI mild-hybrid petrol engines with 130 and 150 PS, 2.0 TSI petrol engines with 204 and 265 PS (R-Line), 2.0 TDI diesel engines with 150 and 193 PS, and the all-new 1.5 TSI eHybrid plug-in hybrids with 204 or 272 PS system output and over 100 km of electric range thanks to a 19.7 kWh battery. 4MOTION all-wheel drive is available for the most powerful variants, as is the adaptive DCC Pro suspension, progressive steering, and a comprehensive driver assistance package including Travel Assist.
