The VW Golf Variant is the estate variant of the eighth Golf generation and offers, with 611 liters of base and up to 1,642 liters of maximum cargo volume, the practical utility of a class above in compact exterior dimensions. Following the 2024 facelift, it shares all updates with the Golf Hatchback — modernized interior, 12.9-inch infotainment, IDA voice assistant with ChatGPT integration, and a fully electrified drivetrain portfolio. The engine range spans from the 1.5-TSI with 116 or 150 PS, the 1.5-eTSI mild hybrid with 116/150 PS, and TDI diesel engines with 116/150 PS, through the 204-PS eHybrid plug-in hybrid with approximately 100 km of electric range, up to the new Golf Variant GTI with 265 PS and the Golf Variant R with 333 PS and all-wheel drive. All drivetrains are available from the plant with the 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG). The Golf Variant is manufactured exclusively at VW's main plant in Wolfsburg.
