The ID.5 is the coupé variant of the ID.4 and has been in series production since January 2022. It is manufactured exclusively at the VW plant in Zwickau, Saxony — one of the Volkswagen Group's dedicated electric vehicle locations. Built on the modular MEB platform, the ID.5 in its Pro variant delivers 286 PS with rear-wheel drive and achieves a range of up to 547 km (WLTP) in the 2026 model year. The sporty GTX top variant produces 340 PS from two motors, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, and features all-wheel drive. With 77 kWh of net usable battery capacity and DC charging power of up to 185 kW, the ID.5 is positioned as a long-distance-capable crossover. Visually, it differs from the ID.4 primarily through its more steeply sloping roofline and distinctive rear end.
