The new Mercedes-Benz GLA is the second model line on the MMA platform (Mercedes Modular Architecture), following the CLA. After its world premiere on 29 July 2026, series production began on 17 September 2026 at the Rastatt plant – initially with three fully electric variants: the GLA 200, GLA 250+, and GLA 350 4MATIC with EQ technology. The range is up to 657 kilometers on the WLTP cycle, with charging at up to 320 kW. Hybrid and combustion engine variants are expected to follow later in 2026. The electric drivetrains come from the Mercedes-Benz plant in Untertürkheim, with batteries supplied by Accumotive in Kamenz. The starting price is €48,599; the dealer premiere is announced for November 2026. For the GLA and the CLA, Mercedes-Benz is also converting Assembly Hall 4.1 at Rastatt – an investment in the low three-digit million-euro range.
