The fourth-generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class (series W177, since 2018) is the entry point into the Mercedes world and defines the premium compact in hatchback form. With balanced proportions, high-quality workmanship, and the distinctive MBUX cockpit featuring two side-by-side displays, it appeals equally to design-conscious first-time buyers and urban high-mileage drivers. The engine range includes efficient four-cylinder petrol engines with 48-volt mild hybrid, TDI diesel, and the A 250 e as a plug-in hybrid with a realistic electric range. At the top sits the AMG A 45 S 4MATIC+ with 421 PS from what is currently the world's most powerful series-production four-cylinder engine. Production is currently running at the Rastatt plant; from Q2 2026, the Kecskemét plant in Hungary will take over — in Rastatt, the CLA and GLA are making way for the next MMA generation.
