The Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric (series C178) is the first production vehicle built on the new Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA), marking Stuttgart's entry into the next generation of electric vehicles. With a lithium-ion battery offering 85 kWh of net capacity, 800-volt architecture, and DC charging power of up to 320 kW, it achieves a range of up to 792 km according to WLTP — a best-in-class figure for the compact segment. An innovative two-speed transmission on the rear axle ensures both strong acceleration and motorway efficiency, while the MB.OS operating system with AI integration and Google Maps EV routing delivers the driving experience of a premium luxury vehicle. Regenerative braking can be adjusted in three stages, up to one-pedal driving. The CLA Electric sedan rolls off the assembly line at the Rastatt plant on a flexible production line that simultaneously produces combustion engine variants.
