The Audi A5 Avant succeeds the A4 Avant under Audi's new nomenclature and is the estate counterpart to the A5 Sedan. Like the Sedan, it is based on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) with E³ 1.2 electronics architecture and was unveiled in July 2024, with market launch following in November 2024. The elongated silhouette with a gently sloping roofline combines a luggage capacity of up to 1,424 liters with a completely redesigned interior, whose digital stage integrates an 11.9-inch instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch touchscreen, and an optional front passenger display. The drivetrain lineup includes 2.0-liter TFSI engines with 150 and 204 PS, the 2.0 TDI with MHEV-plus mild-hybrid system (204 PS), and — from 2025 — the plug-in hybrid A5 Avant e-hybrid quattro with 299 or 367 PS and up to 110 km of electric range, as well as the S5 Avant with a 3.0-liter V6 TFSI producing 367 PS. From 2026, the RS 5 Avant crowns the lineup — as the first RS model with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain, it delivers 470 kW (639 PS), sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, and travels up to 84 km on electric power alone. The A5 Avant is produced alongside the Sedan at the Neckarsulm plant.
