The Porsche Panamera has been Porsche's four-door Gran Turismo since 2009 and entered its third generation (series 972) in March 2024. It is manufactured — as were its predecessors — at the Porsche plant in Leipzig, which Porsche has developed into a multi-model location for combustion engine, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles. The series 972 introduces a newly developed plug-in hybrid architecture with a 25.9 kWh battery, enabling up to 90 km of pure electric driving and combined system outputs of up to 782 PS in the Turbo S E-Hybrid. The lineup includes the Panamera, Panamera 4, Panamera GTS (with a naturally aspirated or turbocharged V8 engine), 4 E-Hybrid, 4S E-Hybrid, Turbo E-Hybrid, and at the top, the Turbo S E-Hybrid. Among the technical highlights, the 972 optionally offers Porsche Active Ride, an adaptive air suspension that actively leans the vehicle into corners against centrifugal force. Vehicle length grows to up to 5,204 mm depending on the wheelbase (standard and Executive).
