The bimobil EX 270 is an exceptionally compact and highly capable off-road motorhome for two people, built on the Toyota Land Cruiser 79 – the rugged workhorse renowned worldwide as the epitome of reliability on unpaved terrain. Unlike the Husky demountable cabins, the EX 270's cabin is a fixed build: a shortened bimobil cabin constructed from thermal-bridge-free sandwich composite panels in the floor, walls, and roof, giving the vehicle an overall length of 5.80 m, width of 2.16 m, and height of 2.98 m – making it exceptionally maneuverable. Standard in the bimobil series is the uprated suspension system with parabolic and air springs at the rear axle, which increases the payload to 602 kg at a permissible gross vehicle weight of 4,000 kg while also improving driving stability when fully loaded. Three well-conceived floor plans (2, 3, and 5) combine a high level of living comfort with maximum self-sufficiency in a compact space: sleeping is in the overcab alcove measuring 143 × 200 cm or 144 × 196 cm, while the seating area – depending on floor plan 91/57, 60/60, or 140/140 cm – can be converted into one or two additional sleeping berths. Standard equipment includes 100 l of fresh water and 67 l of wastewater capacity, a 20 l gas tank, a 180 Ah leisure battery, the Truma Combi D diesel heating system, a compressor refrigerator with 75 + 6 l capacity, and an OGO separating toilet. The light real-wood interior has a welcoming feel and has proven extremely durable in everyday use. Like all bimobil vehicles, the EX 270 is crafted at the manufactory in Oberpframmern near Munich.
