XL A

The XL A (formerly XL Family A) is Dethleffs' only overcab model in the current lineup, designed for large families, grandparent-and-grandchild travelers, and experienced caravanners planning trips of weeks or months with up to six people. Built on a Fiat Ducato with a 180 PS MultiJet (132 kW) engine and 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission, the vehicle is based on the premium low-frame chassis with a 145 mm drop. At 8.60 m in length, 3.27 m in height, and a permissible gross weight of 5.4 t, it offers generous living and sleeping areas: four permanent berths (overcab + rear bedroom) plus a convertible dinette for two additional persons. Key strengths include the 209 cm standing height, the 40 cm double floor with frost-protected water installation for full winter resilience, the heated oversized rear garage (250 kg floor load capacity), and the spacious full bathroom with separate shower.
