The CUPRA Born is the first purely electric model from the Spanish performance brand, and has been built exclusively at the Volkswagen plant in Zwickau since 2021, on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform — as a sportily positioned sibling model to the VW ID.3. A five-door silhouette, aerodynamically sculpted lines with a sharply drawn light signature, and an interior featuring copper-coloured accents and CupBucket seats give the Born its distinctive character. The model range comprises three power levels: the entry-level Born with 190 PS and a 58 kWh battery, the Born Endurance with 231 PS and 79 kWh, and the sporting flagship Born VZ with 326 PS, which sprints to 100 km/h in 5.6 s and offers up to 630 km of WLTP range. DC charging at up to 183 kW, adaptive damper control (DCC), and progressive steering round out the package. The Born puts Zwickau on the map as an international location for electric compact-class manufacturing.
