The Mercedes-Benz eCitaro is the consistent electrification of the world's best-selling city bus. Built on the proven Citaro platform — trusted across thousands of vehicles — it combines reliability with pioneering battery technology. The latest NMC4 battery generation achieves up to 666 kWh in the 12-m solo bus and up to 777 kWh in the 18-m articulated bus — delivering a range of up to 600 km. Charging is available with either 150 kW via CCS2 or 300 kW via pantograph. The intelligent thermal management system with CO₂ heat pump reduces heating energy consumption by approximately 40%. The eCitaro was named Electric Bus Champion at the Omnibusspiegel comparative test 2024.
