The Sommer 516 is the further developed variant of the Sommer diesel series and will replace the 462 in the medium term. The larger Hatz single-cylinder diesel with 516 ccm delivers more torque and power (estimated 13–14 PS), while retaining the characteristic longevity and minimal fuel consumption. Sommer Motorradmanufaktur in Bergen-Geyern also builds this variant by hand on order, with the ambition of designing every motorcycle for a service life of several decades. With Euro 5 compliance and modernized electrics, the 516 is aimed at long-distance enthusiasts who ride in remote regions with diesel supply or are looking for a machine for the next 30 years. The diesel sound is unique – no other production motorcycle comes close to sounding anything like it.
