The Sommer Diesel 462 is one of the few serially produced diesel motorcycles in the world and a technical curiosity of the highest order. Its heart is an air-cooled Hatz single-cylinder diesel engine with 462 ccm and approximately 11 PS – figures that allow for no racing performance, but deliver a phenomenal fuel consumption of just around 2.5 Liter of diesel per 100 km and an expected engine service life beyond 500,000 km.
