New MAN eTGX: Electric semi-truck from Munich achieves up to 720 kilometres
Hannover, September 14, 2026: At the IAA Transportation press day, MAN unveiled the second generation of its electric truck eTGX. New batteries from Nuremberg deliver a range of up to 720 kilometres; like its predecessor, the articulated truck is built at the main plant in Munich.
On September 14, 2026, MAN Truck & Bus presented the new generation of the eTGX in Hannover. At its core is a new battery generation manufactured at the MAN plant in Nürnberg, offering 88 kWh of usable energy per pack — ten percent more than before. Up to seven packs with a combined 616 kWh net are possible: as a 4x2 tractor unit with six packs, the eTGX achieves a range of 660 kilometers, and as a 6x2 with seven packs, up to 720 kilometers — with a payload of up to 25 tonnes.
Via Megawatt Charging (MCS) at up to 750 kW, the battery charges from 20 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes. Also new are a top motor delivering 440 kW (598 PS), regenerative braking boosted by 20 percent, and a front end extended by 120 millimetres that takes advantage of the EU length exemption for zero-emission trucks and reduces energy consumption by three percent. Orders open in April 2027, with deliveries beginning in summer 2027.
The eTGX has been in series production at the MAN main plant in Munich since June 2025 — on the same line as the diesel models; around 1,300 electric trucks were built there in the first year. With vehicle assembly in Munich and battery production in Nuremberg, the electric truck's value creation is rooted in Germany.
