With the Ibex, Sunlight launches its own off-road model range for model year 2027 – described by the brand itself as its most ambitious vehicle range to date. What drew considerable attention in 2026 as a concept car on the VW Crafter went into series production in August 2026 in two variants: The Ibex 604D on the VW Crafter 4MOTION with a 2.0-l diesel, 120 kW (163 PS), and 8-speed automatic is the flagship and at the same time the first Sunlight camper van with an automatic transmission. Its standout feature is its in-house developed, extra-robust high roof with integrated awning; an electric off-road step, framed windows, and a light bar are all included, while a delta4x4 package with 18-inch off-road tyres is optional. The Ibex 603D on the Ford Transit 4×4 with 122 kW (165 PS) and a 6-speed manual gearbox evolves from the popular special edition Cliff 4×4 Greentrek and rolls off the lot as standard with a Ford Raptor grille, 17-inch off-road tyres on black delta4x4 Klassik-B rims, and a 3.5-m awning. Both Ibex models stay just under six metres in length (5.98 and 5.99 m respectively), with a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 t, keeping them within driving licence category B, and offer just under two metres of standing height. Sunlight has widened the rear section to create space for a transverse double bed measuring up to 201 × 147 cm (603D) or 200 × 136 cm (604D); an optional mid-bed adds a third sleeping berth. A practical highlight of the 604D is its pull-out refrigerator, accessible from inside and – with the sliding door open – from outside as well. Heating in the 603D is provided by a Truma Combi 4 gas heater, and in the 604D by a Combi 4 diesel heater; 100/90 l (603D) and 90/70 l (604D) of fresh and waste water capacity respectively, plus a 95-Ah AGM battery, are on board. Pricing starts at EUR 74,999 for the Ibex 603D and EUR 87,999 for the Ibex 604D.
