Most of the company’s German-based business and technology activities are in the Ferrous Solutions business area as well as the Energy, Light Metals and Environmental Solutions business area.A third business area, Non-ferrous Solutions, with technology offerings to customers involved with the processing of copper, nickel, zinc, lead, gold, silver and platinum group metals as well as industrialminerals, is based in Espoo, Finland.

Outotec’s history with the Indian market dates back to the 1950s when the company began providing sintering solutions to Tata Steel. Since then Outotec has added most of the top steel producers to their credentials as well as several leading companies in the alumina market.
