Hamburg-based Rickmers-Linie is a leading specialist in global sea transportation of project and heavy lift cargo. Established as a shipyard in 1834, today, the shipping company provides a worldwide network of liner services for the transportation of breakbulk, project and individual heavy lift pieces, such as transformers, generators, railway locomotives, pressure vessels and yachts. Large projects such as complete cement factories, breweries, chemical plants or gantry cranes for container terminals belong to the list of references. Rickmers- Linie has been operating its eastbound service from Europe to India since 1993, when the service to theMiddle East,which was opened in 1991, was extended to the Indian Subcontinent. Rickmers-Linie owns or long-term charters 13 specialist vessels and spot charters others. The company is also investing in part-ownership in several breakbulk terminals.

Rickmers-Linie is upgrading its India service with the addition of new vessels in 2011 and will also provide a direct service westbound from India to Europe. For this purpose four new vessels are entering this service in 2011. MV “Linde” and MV “Martin” have been longterm chartered since March 2011 while MV“Rickmers Yokohama”has been delivered inMay andMV“Rickmers Tianjin”is due later in 2011.The latter two can lift up to 300 tons with their own cranes, while “Linde” and "Martin”have a crane capacity of 240 tons.
