Since more than 65 years, the name Sennheiser stands for products and solutions in all branches of recording, transmission and the playing of sound. As one of the leading suppliers of complete solutions for electroacoustic products, systems and services, Sennheiser constantly takes the challenge to deliver creative solutions for the requirements and desires of its costumers. It is the company’s manifested goal to provide a unique sound experience to people all across the world.
In January 2011, Sennheiser introduced a new global organisational structure of the company. In order to be able to act more goal- and customer-oriented, three business divisions for the markets “consumer electronics”, “professional systems” and “installed sound” were established. Additionally, the divisions “sales”, “supply chains”, “corporate services” and “strategy and finance” make the new structure of Sennheiser electronics GmbH & Co. KG complete. These independent organisational units provide for a greater focus on the requirements of clients and markets and thereby lay the foundation for sustainable growth of the company.
The product range of Sennheiser includes headphones, microphones, wireless microphone systems, conference and information systems as well as aviation and audiology products. Moreover, Sennheiser brought new cutting-edge technology products for professional users such as the hand-held transmitter SKM 5200-II, the bodypack transmitter SK 5212-II and the receiver series EM3732-II with higher frequency flexibility for noisefree transmission on the market. Also the product range in the segment “installed sound” has been successfully extended. In this respect, the digital discussion system ADN was introduced as an innovative premium product for the conference market. The cooperation between Sennheiser and adidas in 2010 proceeded particularly positive. One of the developed sports-headphone sets, CX 680, received the CES Innovation award. Moreover, Sennheiser reinforced its position as a premium-brand in the consumer segment through upper-class products such as the CXC 700, an in-earheadphone with innovative, digital Noise- Gard technology.
Groundbreaking ideas have made Sennheiser world-famous. Among these are the invention of the shotgun microphone, the development of the open headphone, wireless infrared transmission technology and wireless multi-channel transmission. Furthermore, technical innovations such as head-related surround systems and intelligent audio information systems have been developed. Sennheiser was granted various patents and awards, including innovation awards of the German economy, the Scientific and Engineering Award, the Emmy and Grammy. The consistent advancement of technologies in acoustics and electronics is key to the extension of Sennheiser’s strong market position.
