A truly global network reaching over 400 cities with flights to over 50 oil & energy destinations. Featuring the most refined services in the sky.
A major focus for expansion of Lufthansa German Airlines has been placed on the African continent with the successful launch of flights to Malabo and Luanda in 2008 and further growth for West Africa on its agenda. Lufthansa currently connects 15 destinations in 13 countries on the African continent with 73 weekly frequencies to its hub in Frankfurt and onwards to 107 destinations in Europe, 23 in the US and 27 destinations in Asia/Pacific. Through the successful integration of SWISS Airlines, Lufthansa passengers have an even wider choice when travelling to the African continent. Further synergies will evolve with the planned integration of SN Brussels Airlines and BMI in the Lufthansa Group with both airlines having a strong route network connecting African destinations to their hubs in Europe. To the benefits of its customers, Lufthansa will further strengthen its airline partnerships with Egypt Air, Ethiopian Airlines and South African Airlines.
In line with its corporate strategy of further enhancing the oil & energy portfolio in summer 2009 a new destination will be added to the Lufthansa route map and the capacity to West Africa/Nigeria being increased from July 2009 onwards, depending on traffic rights granted. In Angola, Lufthansa has enjoyed one year of successful market presence since the inauguration of the Luanda-Frankfurt route in April 2008. June 4th onwards, Lufthansa will strengthen its market presence in Angola and offer a second weekly flight connecting Luanda to Frankfurt with convenient flight connections to its worldwide route network, marking a major milestone in the airline’s continuous expansion of its market presence on the African continent.
For companies of the oil & energy sector, Lufthansa offers the Lufthansa oil&energy club providing an array of benefits to its members, i.e. access to Lufthansa Frequent Traveller and Business Lounges, higher baggage allowance, wait list priority. For more information: www.oil-energy-club.com
Excellent service on ground is equally important as on board and the ongoing investment in Lufthansa lounges and terminal facilities speaks for itself. Making the journey for its customers seamless and as comfortable as possible is in line with the corporate strategy to focus on the premium customer. A dedicated First Class Terminal in Frankfurt which has been built to meet the exacting standards of the corporate traveller with its distinct services, is available for Lufthansa First Class Passengers.
